Spreadsheets or Sleep?

Spreadsheets-or-Sleep-HEADER

We have not met an event planner yet that does not use spreadsheets. Spreadsheets for the master program, spreadsheets for tasks, for schedules, for managing all the speakers. Spreadsheets are great, they are quick to set up and they are versalite. But they are also the reason event planners don't get much sleep. Why? Because every change to the event [and there are always changes] results in having to update multiple spreadsheets. It's mundane and painstaking work, and we do it over and over again.

The test

We asked a large group of event planners to estimate how long changes took to manage. The scenario: A speaker change 2 days out from a conference. Website and event app had to be updated, schedules updates, briefs to speakers and vendors, even the MC notes. All up the group came up with 2 hours and 20 minutes to manage the changes. 2 hours and 20 minutes at a time when you had so many other things to do! We managed the same changes in Joi in under 3 minutes.

How can Joi save so much time [and let you sleep]

The reason why Joi saves so much time is that you don't need to use spreadsheets. Everything in Joi is in sync. Your website, your event app, speaker and performer briefs, schedules, run sheets... everything. All you do is change the program and everything else updates.
